We’re a congregation which has a rich and vibrant history, and yet is at a crossroads place in our ministry story where we are excited about rebuilding our congregation with a new and clear vision of where God is leading us in a post-Covid, half-virtual/half in-person world. We believe that together we are finding ways to navigate and find supportive community together so that we can work together to make a big impact in our community and our world for Christ. We’ve got a new team of pastors, one with lots of experience and some wisdom to share; one with youth and a wonderful understanding of what it means to be faithful to God in the international, multi-cultural world in which we live. Both of us have solid spiritual gifts and a deep calling from God to be in this place of ministry, among these people and this local community at this time. We believe that God loves you just the way you are and that there’s room at the table for all here at First UMC in Newton, NJ! We pray that you might feel called to join the two of us and some other pretty incredible people who call themselves by the name of Christ who gather here to worship, learn, serve others, and witness to this community and beyond….because we believe that if you come, you will find a niche that is just for you here, a spiritual home where God will enrich your life and give you a future with hope!
